Nascar Pics

If you are a NASCAR fan, you likely appreciate NASCAR memorabilia or paraphernalia: NASCAR mugs, clothing, bumper stickers, NASCAR posters, and NASCAR pics. And where do we find the hottest of, say, NASCAR pics, for friends or loved ones as Christmas or other holiday gifts? Let’s start with books. For example, Jeff MacGregor wrote a book called Sunday Money: Speed! Lust! Madness! Death! A Hot Lap Around America with NASCAR. In the book, MacGregor writes of his packing up his belongings and his wife, the Beep, in an RV, and traveling across country to follow the events, politics, and social to-dos of the NASCAR circuit. Besides being a funny, personable, and exciting and informative read, the book includes many NASCAR pics in color and black and white. Dale Earnhardt, memorialized in a statue, the Uncers, the fans (and their vans), and the track during the races are enveloped by writing that is fun, funny, and fascinating (as MacGregor also incorporates the history and money behind the most successful auto club in the states).

Other books have NASCAR pics—such as The Wildest Ride: A History of NASCAR (or, How a Bunch of Good Ol' Boys Built a Billion-Dollar Industry out of Wrecking Cars); NASCAR Record & Fact Book : 2006 Edition (NASCAR Record & Fact Book); and, especially, NASCAR Best Shots, from the NASCAR Library Collection. But then there are the online sources, starting with NASCAR pics at such sites as Racehippie.com (where many Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and other pics are available); theinsidegroove.com (where NASCAR pics of races all over the country are featured); and decadesofracing.com (where not only will you get hundreds of NASCAR pics but will find tens of links to the history, the schedules, the driver biographies, and more).

Also, there is a way to get NASCAR pics that not everyone makes use of yet: Go to Google images and type in NASCAR pics. Doing so will give you about 530,000 results, ranging from the individual drivers, the individual cars (on and off the speedway), the races, the fans, the engines, the accidents, and the backstories…if you want them.

Finally, think about what you can make yourself using NASCAR pics. One of my favorite things to do, for example, is go to a photo shop in a mall or in town—to any shop that specializes in personalized gifts. Take with you a perfect photo you have found in the books or on the sites. Ask the personnel to put the pic on a mouse pad. It cost about ten to twenty dollars and takes about a week for them to do. Than, when your loved one is doing his or her own computer searches, he/she will be able to look at the hottest pic of the hottest racecar series ever!
